Rope-making Setup and Steps

Setup

At the far end:

3 fixed hooks, which can be parallel

or in a triangular configuration

The mobile unit

3 hooks fixed to a small board.

Another board is nailed perpendicular to it so it can receive a heavy counterweight (bricks, bottle crates, etc.)

The ropemaking technique presented here is rather simple and requires minimal tools:

  1. a hand drill

  2. 6 metallic hooks

  3. a few bricks or something compact and heavy

  4. a few pieces of wood

  5. some space: 12 m long and at least 1.5 m wide for one ropemaking “lane”
